Dresden, as the seat of the famous “Royal Music School,” one of the most important institutions of its kind in Europe, has attracted many eminent musicians, who have left a distinct imprint upon the musical life of the city. Among those both Schumann and Wagner had a hand in the formation of what is now known as the Dresden Philharmonie and Royal Belvedere Orchestra, a musical Organization that sustains the highest Standard of excellence in both classic and modern orchestral music. Its musicians are all of the highest rank in their particular lines. Many of them have played in this Orchestra all their lives, which largely accounts for the beauty and smoothness of the orchestral effects commented on by their musical critics.
