ADVANTAGES The most rapid and durable plates, prepared with the greatest facility, the mere addition of the Emulsion to a little gelatine at the time of -using being all which is necessary ; entire freedom from frilling, spots, staining by the developer, or retention of the hyposulphite on clearing (which defect) are caused by the large quantity of gelatine in the films as generally in use), which advantages are gained by the small quantity of gelatine in proportion 0 bromide of silver, which also has the effect of causing the films to dry at once on making and developing, so that the chance of spots from dust is much reduced- The Emulsion flows as freely as collodion, and, as a small quantity covers a large surface, the plates are cheap; it keeps any length of time, and the plates m8y be prepared with equally good results in hot or cold weather.
