JOHN Me, NAMARA having been appointed solo agent to the patentees, begs to bring this most remark able invention before all interested in the improve ment of their business, and in a manner that he hopes will secure its general application, it being constructed for really practical purposes, and to meet the requirements of the photographic art in its now advanced position. Among the many advantages claimed for the Bivalve Screen are as follows 1st, For exposing the sensitised plate, doing away with the cap on front lens, the exposure m iy be given without the knowledge of sitter ; this advantage must commend it, and be a most valuable advertisement to the establishment using it. 2ndly, The Bivalve Screen can be opened with such instatnneous rapidity that moving objects may be successfully photographed, or can be kept open an indefinite period, by a simple mechanical arrangement, without exertion. 3rdly, The Bivalve Screen opens on the centre of the lews, thus allowing the operator command over the light, as he can increase or diminish during exposure the apertureof the screen. This advantage to scientific and practical men must be obvious, being hitherto unobtainable for photographic purposes ; in conjunc tion with rapid dry plates for children or nervous persons, simply invaluable. Works inside the camera attached to the sliding or fixed front, allows the lens to work with rack and pinion, fitted ready for work in five minutes —never out of order—pleasure to work. The patentees being desirous that all may judge the merits of the Bivalve Screen have authorized this PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT. FREE TRIAL. Gentlemen ordering one or more, not feeling satisfied with the article, can by returning the same within ten days, carriage paid and uninjured to the patentees at the depot, South Street, Romford, receive a return of their money in full.
