THE “KINGSTON” SPECIAL PLATES, MANUFACTURED BY SAMUEL FRY & CO., KINGSTON-ON-THAMES, LONDON, S.W. These Plates have now taken the very highest position from the combination of unparalleled Rapidity, Simplicity of Working, and Exquisite Delicacy of Result. Those who have been using other Makes must be careful to give much less exposure on commencing the use of the above. The second great Extension of the Works is now complete, and enables the Makers to supply almost any demand on short notice. The “ Kingston ” SPECIAL Plates are in daily use by the largest and most distinguished photographic houses in England; and Contracts for weekly supply direct from the Works on mutually satisfactory terms are made. The system introduced by us of giving personal instruction in the use of our Plates has brought to us Photographers from all parts in great numbers, who have been enabled to start at once successfully without waste or loss of time. We are at all times glad to instruct personally, or by letter, consumers of our Plates. A perusal of the annexed List, which is necessarily a very short one, will show that our Plates are in use by the most eminent photographers of the day. Messrs. Lombardi & Co.“We fully intend to use your Plates constantly. We found them invaluable at Windsor Castle. The portraits of H.R.H. Prince Leopold would have been impossible but for them.” Messrs. W. & A. H. Fry, Brighton, say:—“ Beyond doubt these are the finest Plates in the market; taking babies and ‘other animals’ is a pleasure, instead of a toil.” Mr. F. Brown, Walsall, says :—“ I obtained a splendid negative on every one of the 18 by 16 Plates. They were of fine quality ; let me have another dozen at once.” Messrs. G. & R. Lavis, Eastbourne and Regent Street, say :—“ We are more than successful with your Plates; the delicacy and beauty of the negatives surpass our expectations. Please execute our order at once.” Messrs. Robinson & Thomson, Liverpool, say :—“We are doing all our work on your Plates, both here and at Birkenhead, and fully intend to continue doing so.” Messrs. Brown, Barnes & Bell write “Our operators succeed well with your Plates. Send us three gross half-plates every Tuesday.” Messrs. Lock & Whitfield, Regent Street and Brighton, say :—“Our success with your Plates is complete, and contrasts in a very satisfactory manner with the poor results we obtained on other makes.” Messrs. W. & D. Downey, the Queen’s Photographers, Ebury Street, say “ Whilst your Plates remain, as we have always found them, the best in the market, we shall continue to use yours alone. Send on fifty dozen at once.” We claim as the distinct characteristics of our Plates the yielding, in competent hands, of a fine, pearly, creamy negative, which will give rich prints of the best quality. This is found to be the case not only by the above, but also by the following, all known for the high art character of their work :— Messrs. Elliott & Fry. Messrs. W. & D. Downey. Mr. Vandyke. Messrs. Stuart Brothers. Messrs. Janies Russell & Sons. Mr. John Hawke. Messrs. Chaffin & Sons Mr. Midwinter. Mr. Robert Slingsby. Chevalier Lafosse. W. J. Byrne & Co. M. Boucher.
