External Chara6lers. Its colour is greenilh grey, which pafles on the one fide through mountain green into fmalt blue, on the other through olive green into yellowilh and li ver brown. In fome varieties it approaches to black- The blue variety is very rare. It occurs' maffive, difleminated, and in capillary cryftals. The cryftals are fometimes elaftically flexible- Internally its luftre is gliftening and pearly or ra ther filky. Its fracture is intermediate between fibrous and narrow radiated; the latter is longitudinally ftreaked, alfo ftraight, fcopiform, and ftellular. Fragment
