M- N. 23. Geognostic Situation. It appears to be peculiar to the primitive moun- ^ins, where it occurs in veins and beds of the oldelt I°ttiution. It is found imbedded in limeftone. Geographic Situation. !t was firll found at Thum in Saxony, whence it as its name : it has been alfo obferved in Dauphiny, ^ ere it is accompanied with quartz cryftals, albeit, a %nolite, and common felfpar; alfo near to Barregc Pyrenees, imbedded in calc fpar, in Corn* " a H, at Koniglberg in Norway, and in Siberia*. j, In the trmfcum of the Univerfity of Edinburgh there are if C * nr ' ens mafiive thumerilone, fent by Dr Guthrie of Peterf- a lid faid to be from Siberia.
