PITCH-ORE. 555 Geognostic Situation. It occurs in veins in primitive rocks, along with lead and silver ores. It is usually accompanied with galena or lead-glance, copper pyrites, iron-ochre, calcareous-spar, quartz, lapel- lar heavy-spar; seldomer with silver-white cobalt-ore, red cobalt-ochre, silver glance or sulphureted silver ore, uran-mica and uran ochre ; also associated with native- silver, red silver-ore, corneous silver ore, and native ar senic. Geographic Situations. It is found at Tol Carn and Tincroft in Cornwall; in mica-slate at Johanngeorgenstadt, Schneeherg and Wie- senthal in Saxony; in granite at Joaehimsthal m Uohe- mia; and Kongsberg in Norway. / Observations., It is distinguished from brown blende by colour, speci fic gravity, fracture and streak ; from wolfram by its streak and fracture. *' 2.
