Geognoslic and Geographic Situations. Europe.—It occurs along with galena or lead-glance, and other ores of lead, at Leadhills and Wanlockhead. In England, it is met with at Alston in Cumberland, Allonhead, .Grasshill, and Teesdale, in Durham, and Nithisdale in Yorkshire. On the Continent, it is found in several of the mines in the Ilartz ; also at Zschoppau in Saxony; Prizbram in Bohemia; Ilofsgrund in the Hreisgau ; and Erlcnbach in Alsace. j s { a j n the lead-mines in Siberia ; and in those of the Beresof. Observations. 1. Green lead-ore, when it has a very pale green ish-white colour, is apt to be confounded with White I.ead-ore; but we can distinguish them by the following characters: 1. The prisms of green lead-ore are gene rally cquiaimular, but those of white lead-ore aie unequi- angular.
