Its colour is emerald-green, inclining to verdigris- green. It occurs massive, disseminated, in crusts or investing, reniform, and globular. Internally it is glimmering or dull, and the lustre is resinous. The fracture is Hat conchoidal, inclining to even, small s plintery, and sometimes very faintly fibrous. It is met with at the Virneberg, near Rheinbreitenbach °n the Rhine, in veins in grey-wacke, along with quartz, calcedony, hornstone, red copper-ore, native copper, ma lachite, and azure copper-ore; also as Liebethen, near Neusohl in Hungary, in ironshot-quartz.
