External Charactersf Externally the colour is greyish-black : internally be tween emerald-green and verdigris-green; also leek-green and olive-green. It occurs crystallised in the following figures, viz. 1. Octahedron. 2. Cuneiform or lengthened octahedron. 3. Rhomboid, with small curvilinear faces, and which is sometimes truncated on the edges and angles. The crystals are small and very small, and form drusy coverings. Externally smooth; and sometimes incrusted with copper-green. Internally it is shining and splendent, and vitreous, in clining to pearlv. The longitudinal fracture is imperfect and small con- choidal; the cross fracture uneven, passing into small conchoidal. The fragments are indeterminate angular, and not par ticularly sharp-edged. It is translucent, passing into semi-transparent. It
