Its principal colour is leek-green,'which passes on the one side into pistachio-green, blackish-green, even into olive-green, and oil-green, and on the other into moun tain-grecn. It occurs massive; and crystallised in the following figures: 1. Six-sided prism, with two opposite acute ® te *’ a edges, and bevelled on the extremities, t e e veiling planes set on the acute latera etges. Sometimes two additional planes occur, w en the bevelment passes into a four-planed acumi- nation; * Coccolite, from the Greek word on ac count of the granular concretion, that characterise this subspecies.
