CLASS III. INFLAMMABLE MINERALS. JThe Minerals belonging to this class, do not vary much in colour, and almost the only tints are of black, brown, and yellow : they are very rarely crystallised ; the hard est yield easily to the knife; their specific gravity seldom exceeds 2.0; and they feel warmer than earthy or saline minerals. Some of them are very combustible, and the rest burn more or less easily before the blowpipe. They are more nearly allied to the Metallic than to the Saline or JSartby classes of Minerals. I. SULrHUR FAMILY. This Family contains but one species, viz. Sulphur. Sulphur. Naturlicher Schwefel, Werner. This species is divided into two subspecies, viz. Com mon Sulphur, and Volcanic Sulphur.
