Its colours are snow, greyish, and milk white, which latter passes into smalt-blue, and rarely into grey. It occurs massive. The lustre is splendent and pearly. The fracture is confused foliated. It occurs in fine granular scaly concretions. The fragments are not particularly blunt-edged. It is translucent on the edges. It is easily frangible. It is soft ? Specific gravity, 2.957, Hauy.
