COLUMNAR BROWN-SPAR. Ill yellowish-wliite. It is sometimes marked with oclire- yellow, and yellowish and blackish brown coloured spots. It occurs massive, and in balls. It is glimmering or glistening, and is pearly. The fracture is straight, and either scopiform or di verging fibrous. The fragments are splintery, or wedged-shaped. It occurs in distinct concretions, which are either wedge- shaped, prismatic, or coarse granular. In other characters it agrees with the preceding sub species. Geognostic and Geographic Situations. It has hitherto been found only in Lower Hungary, where it occurs in veins, as a member of different forma tions, along with foliated brown-spar, quartz, amethyst, h'on-pyriles, and silver-glance or sulphuretted silver-ore.
