DR. WALTER A. MAIER Concordia Seminary SPONSOR TT IS seldom that Saint Louis has the pleasure of being host to such an internationally known group of artists as the Dresdner Kreuzchor. For more than 700 years the Choir has ably interpreted the best of the world’s music and for the first time these choristers come to America and to Saint Louis. Therefore I count it a signal honor to have the opportunity of greeting them in behalf of the audience. I feel certain that no other city has given these fine boys a more magnificent setting for the expression of their art and I sincerely trust that our appreciation of this evening’s concert will be matched only by the boys’ memories of a most happy visit in our city. To the boys themselves I say (and I am sure I express the sentiment of everyone here) : Saint Louis looks forward to your return and may good fortune be yours in your musical careers. Auf wiedersehn! [In spite of his manifold duties, Dr. Maier, who at first feit obliged to decline the honor of acting as patron becau.se of his mang and arduous duties, was ünallg prevailed upon to Sponsor this concert in the interest of the musical aduancement of our city. Without his sponsorship, St. Louis would have been deprived of this rare musical event.—The Committee.]
