This Company has been formed for tho purpose of purchasing and working the several patents secured in this country by Mr. Nathan Thompson, marine engineer, of New York, for his pro cess of building boats by machinery. Mr. Thompson, after many years of close study and the unremitting application of his mechanical skill, has perfected a system of the most simple and effective character for the construction of bouts or every size and mould, which must, to a great extent, supersede the present mode of building t hem by hand labour, every part being prepared with the irreatest accuracy and finish by machinery. PATENT BITUMINIZED PIPES EOR X WATER, GAS, AND DRAINAGE.—Reduction in Price on account of the Exemption from Duty on Paper.—These Pipes possess all the properties necessary for the conveyance of Water Gas and also for Drainage purposes, viz., great strength, great durability, and perfect inoxidability; and being non conductors arc not affected by frost like metal pipes ; they aro proved to resist a pressure of 2201bs. on the square inch (equal to 500 feet head of water), and can he made up t o any greater strength if required. They are only one-fourth the weight, and when laid down are 50 per cent, cheaper than iron pipes ; they are made in 7-fect lengths, and the joinings are simple and in expensive.
