Wilson, Civil and Mechanical Consulting Engineer, 9 Buckingham- street, Strand, London, where they also may be seen. ~ (377) Y METROPOLITAN BOARD of WORKS.— 1* I MAIN DRAINAGE of METROPOLIS.— SOUTHERN OUTFALL TUNNEL SEWER. — To BUILDERS and CONTRACTORS experienced in Tunnel Works.—The Metropolitan Board of Works hereby give notice, that they will MEET in the Council Chamber, Guildhall, in the City of London, on Friday, the 6th day of January, 1860, at Twelve o’clock at Noon precisely, and will then be prepared to open TENDERS by parties who may be willing to CONTRACT for the CONSTRUCTION of a MAIN BRICK SEWER, 7 miles 2,240 feet in length, or thereabouts (5,000 feet of this length being in tunnel), and for the execution of other works in connection there with ; such sewer to extend from a point in Erith Marshes, opposite Dagenham Breach, in the county of Kent, to Woolwich, and through and under Woolwich to Norman’s- road, otherwise North Pole-lane, Greenwich, in the same county. Parties desirous of submitting tenders may, upon pay ment of £3, obtain plans, sections, specification, form of tender, and other particulars on application to J. W. Bazalgette, Engineer of the Board, at the office of the Board, between the hours of Nine a.m. and Four p.m. Tenders, addressed to the Metropolitan Board of Works, must be delivered at the office of the Board, No, 1 Greek- street, Soho, before Four o’clock p.m. on Thursday, the 5th day of January, 1860, and no tender will be received after that hour. To Mr. Bischoff, Shipbuilder and Engineer, Elbing— Have you an Agent in London to whom the Boat may be given ? The Rocket of the 13 in. Boat weighs 1 oz., and it propels a Boat of 7 ft. with 20 lbs.
