A thorough examination of the building and its appointments will amply repay the visitor. Near the corner of Santa Clara and Third streets stands the San Jose Opera House, Built in 1870 by Mr. G. Brohaska. It is a neat and elegant theatrical hall, not so extensive as some of the metropolitan theaters, but still •sufficiently ample for a city of the population of San Jose. It is occu pied for concerts, &c., and occasionally for a short season by some of the San Francisco stock companies.
